January 2015

This stuff is soooo expensive ... solid board insulation. I posted on freecycle asking if anyone had any and this amazing guy gave me 5 full boards worth over £200.

Below you can see Rob & I have started to insulate the roof space. It's grim work. The dust from the insulation gets in your eyes and down your throat.

January 2015 - with Rob Holt

After taking down the RSJ beam and the block piers, with Mike, Rob came over to help me rebuild the wall

Great job done, taking about 4 hours. The blocks are aerated concrete blocks that you can literally cut with a saw.
January 2015 - wtih Mike Broad

A good friend, Mike, convinced me that I needed to take down a steel beam that ran across the width of the garage. providing more head space. I got some spectacular pictures of Mike cutting through the beam .. which I later sold to add to the meagre near zero budget (little did i know that 6 months further down the line I'd actually need a beam, of about those dimensions!!!)
December 2014

Bray & Slaughter Construction have kindly donated materials left over from their latest project, renervating the Bristol Zoo education centre.

Several loads of new wood to add to my ever growing stocks!
December 2014

Southmead Play Park were renervating  the playground and kindly offered me left over wood. After sharing my vision they started digging out all sorts of stuff they had been storing for years but hadnt found a use for. They donated three ceiling lights, some kitchen cabinet doors and a huge amount of wood .. all unused and brand new!
Quite a car full!!
September 2014

In the beginning there was a large garage ... with a vision to build a studio flat within it. A place where people could come to relax and recuperate from ME/CFS. Hopefully a beautiful room with a courtyard garden, warm and comfortable. A place where people could rebuild strength, find renewed hope and see improvement in their health.
